    Important NLRB updates will be discussed for both CA and NV.

    Valerie Hardy-Mahoney has 35 years of service with the NLRB and recently became the new Regional Director for the Agency’s Region 32 Office in Oakland, California. The Region 32 Office is responsible for conducting elections, investigating unfair labor practice charges, and protecting the right of workers to act collectively to improve their wages and working conditions in portions of northern California and the northern half of Nevada.

    SB 1343 requires that both managerial and non-managerial employees must receive training by January 1, 2020. California Law requires all companies with 5 or more employees receive training. After January 1, 2020, employees must be retrained once every two years. That means that all employees statewide must be retrained by January 1, 2022. The law requires that employees be trained during calendar year 2019. Employees who were trained in 2018 or before will need to be retrained. For more information, see the DFEH Sexual Harassment Prevention Training and SB 1343 FAQ.

    The training will meet all requirements for mandatory training under CA Law. Certificates will be issued.
